Course Summary

Precalculus covers introduction and evaluation of trigonometric functions, trigonometric identities, complex numbers, applications of complex numbers to geometry, two-dimensional and three-dimensional vectors and matrices, determinants, dot and cross product, applications of vectors and matrices to geometry.

Requirements

Students are required to have successfully completed up to Algebra 2 and Geometry.

Instructions
  1. 1. Download Zoom on a personal device situated in a learning environment.
  2. 2. Click on the view calendar link located on the homepage or in the class dates section of your course. This will take you to a google calendar with the dates and times of all the classes.
  3. 3. Once you have registered, you will be sent the meeting ID and password for your class. Copy this information.
  4. 4. Go to Zoom and enter the meeting ID.
  5. 5. The class is a total of 1.5 hours. However, there will be a short 5-minutes break after 45 minutes. We will email you a new meeting ID for the second half of the class. Please make sure to rejoin because this half of the class will cover application of the topics that were taught

As an introductory unit we will be understanding how functions are graphed and solved, as well as how we can interpret word problems as functions.

This unit will introduce the unit circle and basic trigonometric functions, as well as specific identities and their derivations.

In this unit, we will learn a large amount of identities , such as sum-angle, double-angle, half-angle, sum-to-product, and product-to-sum.

We will learn how to graph trigonometric functions, as well as interpret data values in order to create functions based on them.

FAMAT- 30 questions- pulled from different sources (no banks).

In this unit, we delve into parametric functions, and how to interpret them. We will also learn polar functions, and their relation to complex numbers and trigonometry.

This unit will introduce the complex plane, real and imaginary parts, polynomials with complex roots, and others.

In this unit, we will understand a relationship between trigonometry and complex numbers, by learning roots of unity, exponential form, and De Moivre's Theorem.

This unit will serve as an introduction to matrices and vectors, and how to spatially analyze their components.

This unit will observe 3 by 3 matrices, their determinants, and their relations to vectors. We also learn how to utilize cross product and dot product, and their significance.
